Bich-Van Nguyen and Sean Buhr

Bich-Van Nguyen and Sean Buhr have appeared in some prestigious venues including the Kennedy Center in New York City.  Sean Buhr has North East Iowa roots and Birch-Van Nguyen’s are Vietnam.

About Bich Van:  Vietnamese-American singer-actress-songwriter Bich-Van was handed the mandolin by her grandfather when she was four. She started taking piano lessons at age five and singing at six, and has been performing  ever since.

Previously trained at National Music Conservatory in Vietnam and at Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, Long Beach, California, Bich-Van recently graduated with a Masters in Musical Theater at New York University, and an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy.

Bich-Van is one of the most sought-after Vietnamese vocalists in her genre, and has performed as a soloist with Asia Entertainment, the Vietnamese – American Philharmonic, the Ngan Khoi Chorus, and more. She is also performing in Opera, Musical Theater and stage productions, concerts and Christian events all over the world at prestigious venues such as National Music Conservatory in Vietnam, Kennedy Center (DC), Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center (NY), Segerstrom Center for the Arts (CA), Carpenter Performing Arts Center (CA), La Mirada Theater (CA), Rachel Schlesinger Concert Hall (VA), Marie Stéphane Concert Hall (Montreal), among others.

Notable roles include the Lead in the World-Premiere Monodrama “Count To Ten”, the Muse (Lead) in the Off-Broadway musical “A World Without Harmony”, Tuptim in “The King and I”, Kim in “Miss Saigon”, Christine in “Phantom of the Opera”, Cleopatra in Handel’s “Giulio Cesare”, Nannetta in “Falstaff” among others.

Bich-Van has released 9 studio albums up to date. Besides actively performing, she teaches piano and voice, coaches and music directs, with over ten years of teaching experiences, including two years in the Faculty of New York University.

About Sean Buhr:  Sean Buhr is a singer, actor, songwriter, producer and voice teacher based in New York City. The last two years he has been seen on stages such as The Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, The Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center, 54 Below, The Signature Theatre, Skirball Center, Rose Theater, The Town Hall Theatre and Laurie Beechman Theatre among many others throughout the United States and Canada performing with artists like the New York POPS, Jeremy Jordan, Norm Lewis, Patrick Page, Scott Coulter, Rebecca Luker, Julia Murney and Stephen Schwartz to name a few.

He produces and directs the annual Desiring the Arts Festival in Iowa, founded the McSweeny-Buhr Scholarship for the Arts for graduating high school students and he recently completed his fifth year as an adjunct faculty member at New York University.
