Dave Karl continues to entertain audiences throughout the year. His ability to do so many voices is uncanny, along with mannerisms.
Quote from Dave: “I met Kenny Rogers a couple years ago, he looked at a photo of me in character of him, he raised one eyebrow and said “Don’t go getting me in any trouble!” ”
A fun filled night for the whole family! Don’t miss your chance to see this spectacular show of impersonations in “A Touch of Kenny and Friends” starring DAVE KARL
Some recent performances have been at: Ahwatukee Recreation Center in Ahwatukee, Arizona; Valle del Oro Resort in Mesa, Arizona; White Pines Theatre in Oregon, Illinois; Lady Luck Casino in Marquette, Iowa; and Mystique Casino in Dubuque, Iowa … To name a few.
Dave Karl was born in Illinois in 1953 the fourth of five children. He grew up in a very old town of Woodale where his father worked in construction and his mother a stay at home mom.
He became the first member of his family to continue the interest in music. His brothers and sisters all tried playing instruments but lost interest very quickly. Dave learned the guitar at age eight, and took an interest in singing as well. Doing vocal impersonations was a hobby of his copying the styles of Elvis, the Beatles, along with other rock-n-roll artists, like NEIL DIAMOND!
During his teenage years, in and out of Rock-n-Roll bands, he spent a lot of time in recording studios cutting 45 RPM records to sell to their fans trying to make it in the music industry.
When he turned 18 years old, he turned from playing Rock-n-Roll to Country music.
From 1986 to 1993, Dave was invited to be a member of a well known Chicago Country Music group called “Heartland”, playing keyboard, and guitar while opening acts for … Marie Osmond, Lee Greenwood, Ronnie Milsap, Ronny McDowell, and many others. After the band split, he focused on being a single act.
In early 2008, Dave put together a Tribute show to Kenny Rogers. The show is called “A Touch of Kenny”. His ability to impersonate Kenny comes so easy because his natural voice is so close to Kenny Rogers it’s uncanny!
He moved to Phoenix Arizona in 2010. In March of that same year, he was cast by Movie Works (a motion picture company) to play the part of Kenny Rogers in a movie called “QUEENS OF COUNTRY” not yet rated or released.
“Entertaining is a love of mine, but there is another interest in me that i truly love to do, and that is writing music. Writing country music, short subject instrumental or lyric for possible film or television.”
Dave is a member of: NSAI (Nashville Songwriter Association Inc) and BMI (Broadcast Music Inc).
